I am interested in the design of new algorithms for complex motion planning problems, with main applications in the areas of robotics and computational Biology.

In robotics, my previous research had particular emphasis on highly-constrained systems, optimal motion planning, high-dimensional spaces, kinodynamic motion planning with sensing and control uncertainty, dynamic environments, human-robot interactions, and disassembly operations.

In computational biology, I mainly focussed on the analysis of conformational changes in molecular loops, the design of hybrid strategies to combine path planners with energetic models as well as the analysis of constrained accessibility pathways in ligand-protein interactions.

  1. 2008-2012:  Postdoc (JAE-Doc Fellowship) at IRI Robotics Lab, CSIC-UPC, Barcelona, Spain. Design of algorithmic tools to plan motions of complex mechanisms.
